A Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is the first step in assessing your Site for potential environmental liability. Purchasers and sellers can reduce their risk of investment by completing a Phase 1 ESA prior to property transactions.
The Phase 1 ESA process includes assessing the Site and surrounding areas for historical and current potentially contaminating activities. Information is gathered via an on-Site visit by one of our consultants, followed by a thorough review of available historical information pertinent to the Site including aerial photographs, fire insurance maps and city/street directories to name a few.
Based on our findings, we will provide you with essential information and recommendations regarding the potential environmental risks specific to your Site. If there is potential for contamination at the property, a Phase 2 ESA involving a subsurface ground investigation and analysis of soil, groundwater and/or soil vapour may be recommended to further assess the presence and/or absence of contamination.
WES travels all over BC from our head office on Vancouver Island region and has completed over 2,500 individual site investigations. WES prides itself in using an efficient and systematic approach to conducting environmental site assessments, providing fast, valuable, and reliable results to clients.
